Children/Youth Ministries
Our church's Children and Youth Ministry has a theme to promote
unity and growth:
Little Acorns (Infant - 2 years)
Planting the seed for future Christians!
We want our
babies to hear about God and His love. If we plant that seed early,
we can help it grow into a wonderful tree that is full of faith. Our
goal is to grow strong Christians in the present, so they can continue to grow Christians in the
future.
Our nursery at
Monuments Baptist Church is a warm, welcoming place for anyone who comes to feel safe leaving their child with
us, so they may enjoy the service. Our nursery is cleaned after every service.
Our workers are members, have had background checks, and are well known to us. We treat every
child with love and want their experience to be as nice as possible. We hope that every
parent feels 100% safe leaving their child with us and they know that their child will be loved and taught about
God and His love.
Zac's Friends
(Preschool 3-4 years)
Teaching our children about Him...and other
Bible characters, like Zacchaeus, along the way!
Our preschool at
Monuments Baptist Church is a warm, welcoming place for anyone who comes to feel safe leaving their child with
us, so they may enjoy the service. Our preschool is cleaned after
every service. Our workers are members, have had background checks,

their experience to be as nice as possible. We hope that every parent
feels 100% safe leaving their child with us and they know that their child will be loved and taught about God
and His love.
Radical Roots (K-5th
Grade)
Feeding those roots, so our
children grow strong in faith.
Sunday School
At this time, we currently group Kindergarteners in with either
the preschoolers or the 1-3rd grade class, depending on a decision made between parent/guardian and the
teachers. All ages are taught using FaithWeaver material.
We have seperated the 1-5th graders
into boys and girls for Sunday School. Children do better grouped this way for behavior and the numbers come out
more evenly. Our Girl class is taught by Pam Shouse and our Boy class is taught by Robin
Wooten.
As we grow, we will add more classes
to this K-5th grade group.
Children's Church
Instead of children sitting in the
adult worship service, we offer Children’s Church. This program
allows children to learn about God and His love on their own level and with crafts and games built
in. The program teaches them in a way that prepares them for
worship. By the time the children reach 5th grade they are ready to
exit Children’s Church and enter the main worship service. Our
Children’s Church is taught by rotating teachers and co-ordinated by Cathy Pence, the pastor’s
wife. Each week the teacher has a Children’s
Department worker helping. All workers are background
checked.
Wednesdays
On Wednesday evenings children can learn about God through games,
songs, Bible lessons, and movies. Pam Shouse and Wilma Phillips teach the K-5th graders on Wednesday
evenings. This prepares the children for the youth department that they enter in 6th grade.
Swinging Vines (6th - 12th Grade)
Teaching our youth to spread the faith to others.
Our youth department is directed
by Tim Pence. The youth meet on Sunday mornings for Sunday School, on Wednesday evenings for Bible Study, and
various times throughout the year to join in youth activities.
