Radical Roots (1st - 5th Grade)
Feeding those roots, so our children grow strong in faith.
Sunday School
All ages are taught from Answers in Genesis curriculum. Although not every age group or class is on the same lesson.
Children's Church
Instead of children sitting in the adult worship service, we offer Children’s Church. This program allows children to learn about God and His love on their own level and with crafts and games built in. The program teaches them in a way that prepares them for worship. By the time the children reach 5th grade they are ready to exit Children’s Church and enter the main worship service. Our Children’s Church is taught by Craig Kelch and rotating helpers that plan a craft and/or game for each service. All workers are background checked. We use Lifeway's The Gospel Project curriculum for Children's Church. Children will have a different lesson in Children's Church than they had in Sunday School.
Wednesdays
On Wednesday evenings children can learn about God through games, songs, Bible lessons, and movies. We use Children in Action from WMU on Wednesday nights, in combination with Lifeway's The Gospel Project Midweek curriculum. It ties in the Bible lesson they learned Sunday with an application to their life on Wednesday. The Children in Action lessons help children learn about missionaries in the USA and overseas. (Kindergartners are taught in Mission Friends with the preschoolers on Wednesday nights.) Children learn about, give to, pray for, and do missions. This prepares the children for the youth department that they enter in 6th grade. We use Wednesday evenings to also work on skits, songs, and plays we perform occasionally at church.
